I, the undersigned, understand that my volunteer position with GVYFC/Youth Unlimited/Campus Life is contingent upon a review and approval of this truthfully completed and signed VOLUNTEER DISCLOSURE STATEMENT. I also understand that the information, which I have provided, is subject to verification, which may include a criminal record check. I further understand that if I am permitted to volunteer, I may be discharged for any misrepresentation or omission on this form or as a result of the verification process.
Criminal Record Check
YFC requires a copy of a current criminal record check (within the last 2 years) for all volunteers working directly with youth. Please submit with application.
Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

4. We believe that, for the salvation of the lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost–they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
Greater Vancouver YFC/Youth Unlimited Policy Regarding Professional Conduct With Young People.
GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED believes in absolute professional propriety with regard to its work with young people. As such all the following policies are mandatory for GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED staff and volunteers. It is the responsibility of the individual volunteer or staff member and their immediate supervisor to ensure compliance with these policies.
No staff member or volunteer should have any young person connected with the work of GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED under the age of 18 stay in their house over night. On exceptional occasions where this is deemed necessary, other staff or volunteers are to be present and parents or guardians must give written permission. No staff member or person acting in a capacity as GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED volunteer is to stay overnight alone with any such young person.
It is recognised that private conversations are sometimes a necessary part of the work. These will be conducted in a public building or public place [GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED office, drop in, restaurant etc.]
GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED is under legal obligations with respect to the knowledge it or its officers possesses regarding young people under the age of 18. As such the relevant authorities will always be contacted immediately, should GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED come into any knowledge regarding underage runaways or allegations of any form of abuse. All supervisors should make sure all staff and volunteers are aware of the correct procedures for doing this in the area or locality involved. The relevant ministry is the Ministry of Children and Family Development and a duty worker there should be immediately contacted, as should the staff memberÔÇÖs supervisor.
No GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED worker or volunteer will be alone in a vehicle with any young person connected with the work of GVYFC/YOUTH UNLIMITED between dusk and dawn. If a journey needs to be conducted after these hours a third person, preferably a staff or volunteer, should always be present. In exceptional circumstances where such a journey is of crucial importance [medical emergency etc] and no other staff or volunteer is available, the staff member must ensure that the youth rides in the back seat only. The staff must call their supervisor and inform them of departure and then again on arrival.
Youth Volunteer Role Description: A volunteer challenges students to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and socially through conversations, relationships, Bible Study, and activities.
Support System: A volunteer is ultimately responsible to Sharon Wiebe as a YFC staff person.
Regular Responsibilities: See dates listed on our volunteer job description page. Please put these in your calendar and make every effort to be there. Inform Sharon ASAP if there is a date you find impossible to attend. These meetings are crucial to the effectiveness of the program.

1. Volunteers are available to VOLUNTEER and will not be reimbursed for services unless an agreement is written and signed by both the volunteer and YFC staff person involved.
2. Volunteers will not be reimbursed for any expenses not agreed upon prior to purchase. Agreements must be approved by Sharon and in writing and must conform to the Jesters budget.
