For the first time ever…
We are hosting a film comtetition for youth ages 11-18 in the community to show off their creativity. All you need is a phone and your imagination.
Theme
All sumbitted films must be centred around the theme of WHAT FILLS YOU? This could be socially, spiritually, emotionally, mentally… get creative and have fun! Write a script, tell a story, share a fun moment or a prolonged gag, or get serious. It’s up to you!
Something to keep in mind is that Jesters operates as “a safe place to love theatre,” and so any films submitted will have to be tested against that “safe” standard to be accepted. Your film doesn’t have to be about theatre, but any excplicit, graphic or gratuitous content will not be accepted. Our showcase is open to all from the community, so while variety in content in encouraged, consideration should be given to how everything can be communicated in a family friendly way.
You can submit for either the Middle School or High School catagory and awards will be given out in each catagory for story, creativity, on-camera work, and off-camera work.

Submission Guildlines
All submitted films must have been recorded on a phone, and must be between 3-6 minutes long after any editing.
Submissions must be made by youth 11-18 years old, residing in the Fraser Valley of BC, Canada.
Submission must be made by May 1, 2026.
If a rating was to be given to your film, it should be either G or PG. Graphic, explicit, or gratuitous content will not be accepted.
Teams of up to 4 youth will be accepted. This includes for all acting, filming, editing, etc. The idea is to get your friends together and have fun. Solo projects are accepted.
All submission must include a filled out Location Waiver form for every location filmed in, including your own home. In that case, the form would be signed by your parent/guardian. You can download that form below.
The below submission form must be filled out before any film is submitted. All films must be uploaded to a Google Drive account and shared with jesters@youthunlimited.com. All submissions will be notified by the email whether or not they are accepted into the competition.
