Where is Jesters Theatre?
Our office is located at Northview Church in Mission BC

Who do we serve?
We serve youth grades 3-12 in our Summer camps and accept students in grades 4-12 for our Main Stage  (Fall/Winter) program. 
Spring programs are rotated annually and are available to specific age groups of youth.  For example, Jesters Sr.  is geared towards senior high-school youth through age 25, and Spring Improv designed for grades 7-12.

Summer Staff 2022

Do you enjoy working with kids 8-18?  Are you are Christ-follower who wants to invest in the lives of youth and see them flourish in an energetic, theatre style camp program? Are willing to learn, adore themed camp names, water-gun soakings  and love leading in a team through acting, song and dance?

If you answered YES to the questions above (with the requisite youth-leader style fist pump of course!), and you agree with our Statement of Faith & Community Commitment, then one of these positions might just be for you!

 

Jesters Theatre Summer Positions

Time frame: May 30 – July 29 
incl. Saturdays, June 18 & July 23
Positions may be subject to Canada Summer Jobs funding and as a missions position will require some program fundraising.

Summer Program Coordinator
35 hrs/wk 
Post Secondary Student

Tasks and Responsibilities: Jesters Theatre  Program Coordinator assists the Artistic Director with tasks such as planning, preparing, and leading the summer theatre camp programs, including scheduling, resource procurement, creation of activity content, and team management. Will create lesson plans with appropriate learning objectives and teach classes for youth. Under the Artistic Director’s guidance, the participant will assist with the marketing of the program.  Will work alongside summer staff and camp participants ensuring that health safety protocols are followed. Additionally, the participant will be involved in the skill development of Staff-In-Training. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Leadership Development Coordinator
35 hrs/wk
Post Secondary Student

Tasks and Responsibilities: Jesters Theatre Leadership Development Coordinator will actively research and advance leadership development among a group of teenage youth. The coordinator will also assist program staff, mentor student leaders and provide them with additional, ongoing leadership training through specialized classes that will prepare them to guide younger camp participants. Responsible for programming outside of the morning camp program with a focus on team building, character development, soft skills, and holistic life coaching for student leaders and camp participants.  Will demonstrate and adhere to safety protocols. Will present more advanced development opportunities for staff during daily team meetings. Reports to the Artistic Director.

Assistant Program Coordinator
35 hrs/wk
Grade 10-Post Secondary

Tasks and Responsibilities: Jesters Theatre Summer Creative Program Coordinator (Program Assistant) will assist the Artistic Director and Program Coordinator with tasks such as planning, preparing, and leading the summer theatre camp programs, including resource procurement, creation of activity content, and team management. Will create lesson plans with appropriate learning objectives and teach classes for youth. Under the Program Coordinator’s guidance, the participant will lead in creating an atmosphere reflective of each camp theme by researching and securing props and costumes. Will assist summer staff and camp participants ensuring that small cohort guidelines and safety protocols are followed. Reports to the Program Coordinator.

Staff-in-Training (June 27-July 29)
Approx. 20 hrs/wk
Grade 10-12

Tasks and Responsibilities: Assists Program and Leadership Development staff with various tasks such as devos, research, theme decor, music, art and crafts for youth, help with costumes, end of week performances, and program fundraising.
Please note that this position is not a  hourly paid position but
will receive a $500 scholarship at the end of the commitment.
