Welcome to Fall Theatre 2020!

We are excited to announce our show will be a new adaptation on the classic tale of Peter Pan ┬á- “Neverland”┬á

Taken from the perspective of Wendy, she guides us through her adventures of learning how to fly and being taken away to a magical land full of pirates, fairies, and some shifty locals. Was it real? Was it just a fantastic dream? Or is there a greater lesson we all need to learn from embracing our inner child?

Commitment Expectations:
Theatre is a huge commitment.┬á Let’s just get that out there!

• All students must be prepared to attend ALL Rehearsals on Fridays and when called on Wednesdays. If you are cast┬áin a lead role, your likelihood of being called on a Wednesday is much greater.
• Picture Day, Rehearsal Week, and Shows are MANDATORY, note all dates provided on our calendar.
• Students are expected to be ON TIME. If there is some valid reason for lateness or absence, please contact Jesters Staff before registering in order to discuss it. Illnesses cannot be avoided, but please take care of your health especially during and prior to our shows. Unexcused absences and lateness will result in your role being given to another student. ┬áPlease do not be surprised by this. ┬áTheatre is a commitment and we expect this from our actors.

Unexcused Absences: 
Please do not sign up if you are unable to let us know in advance of absences.  Ultimately each one is required to be at each rehearsal and absences should only be a very rare exception.  We work very hard to fit in enough rehearsals for a successful play, however, it becomes a strain if we are dealing with schedule changes.

Rehearsals Running Later:
There are times, especially when our performances are looming that we need to run a late rehearsal.  Please be reminded that this is a possibility and we all need to work together as a team to make it work if this happens.  Parents, please be supportive of this and recognize that our staff and volunteers are giving extra time and deserve your appreciation.

Backstage:
Students who are interested in backstage are expected to attend each Friday and participate in theatre games and other activities and assist where needed; these students are seen as part of the team, just as much as anyone else on the cast, and are therefore expected to be just as committed, and registration fees are still required. There will be training provided, the level of which will depend on the skills and commitment of the students interested.  Those with backstage roles will also be required to attend extra rehearsals during tech week(s).

Student Leaders Grades 10-12: 
Are you interested in being a student leader?┬á It’s fun, stretches you, gives you new skills, and give you an opportunity to mentor younger students.┬á If you’d like to sign up, please indicate this on your application form.

Our Causes: TBA
Jesters Theatre works hard to create a show which not only entertains but makes a difference in our world through donations.  We give 1/3 of our fundraising efforts to a global cause, 1/3 to a local cause, and 1/3 towards our costs at Jesters for hiring staff. The causes we support will be announced later this year.

If parents or friends are interested in volunteering, please let us know on the application form!

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have had to cancel the majority of our events and fundraisers, but are hoping to still hold 1 or 2 Krispy Kreme Fundraisers later in the summer.
We really appreciate the many who come to all of our summer fundraisers ÔÇô you are spectacularly awesome and make serving fun!!

Jesters is currently looking to hire a Seamstress and an Assistant Stage Manager for our Fall program; if you know someone, please send them our way!

Staff Update:
Exciting news – our staff are switching around their roles this season! Here’s what you can expect:

• Artistic Director & Fall Theatre Stage Manager: Ryan Scramstad
• Fall Theatre Director: Tiani Foster
• Admin & Community Engagement: Michelle Tydeman

Fall Theatre usually fills up within a week or two.  Some years it has filled up on the first day.  This year we are opening registrations to current members and the public at the same time, however, preference will be given to 2019 Fall Theatre Cast and Crew Members.  You can expect to hear back from us after spring break!
